As outlined in the sub-forum description, we will attempt to record edits made by moderators in this sub-forum. (Unfortunately the forum software does not support an edit history by default.) This sub-forum is open to everyone, so anyone can reply with any objection to any edit, which will be considered. Original posters can also ask for removal from here if they would not like the edit to remain in the history. (For example, an original poster might decide to remove a controversial post entirely, and in this case perhaps also from this board if they don't want it visible for some reason.) Therefore this is not an authoritative history function, but rather a service to people whose posts have been edited. The reason for this is to ensure that the forum remains extremely high-quality, without removing or modifying any content without cause or notice. In general editing work of any kind is not to be taken lightly. At the same time, many questions start out poorly phrased, and so forth. For example, check out this excellent question on another forumThen click the Edited date (by Scott Winder) and scroll to the very bottom to see the question in its original form. As you can see, the original question was very poor and had to be closed. The clarified version is extremely clear, and I found it as part of a Google search. However, I think it's important in these cases to maintain the sense of history, while improving certain questions and posts. For this reason these will be included here.
